The wait is over!! Breathe!! We finally got to see all the big wedding designers from around the globe descend on the fabulous New York city showcasing their Spring/Summer 2014 collections and I for one are glad the wait is over. But boy did they deliver a menagerie of excitement with stunningly unique, beautiful dresses elegantly twisting the traditional wedding dress into an enchanted version of our personalities.
So what are the Spring/Summer 2014 trends?
Dramatic backs – S/S 2014 wedding trend
The best has to come first as I am a drama junky!
Whether it’s an open back like those heavily showcased by Rivini or delicatly crafted embroidery, giant bows or other embellishments showcased by Oscar de la Renta, dramatic backs are in. Lets be honest, there is something incredibly feminine about an open or dramatic back; it creates an element of surprise and not only will you have a dramatic entrance, your exit will be memorable. Every woman, any size can wear an open back and New York was loaded with them.

Appliques – S/S 2014 wedding trend
It’s about personality and style fusing in an enchanting mix of your character. If you love making things personal then this trend is your bubblegum! From buttons to pearls, crystals and gems to beautiful lace edging. Dresses in the S/S 2014 collections were covered!
Appliqués from Oscar de la Renta
We’ve seen them in high street stores everywhere and we probably all own at least one by now and now they’ve become the hot trend for the S/S 2014 wedding collection. Vera Wang did it. Oscar de la Renta did it and if these two names alone bare any resemblance on what’s hot and what’s not (as they of course do) then peplums are here to stay for awhile. If you want to highlight or exaggerate your hips then a peplum wedding dress is pure silhouette perfection.

Capes and wraps
From light lace wraps to light capes and fur wraps. The S/S 2014 wedding collections included luscious capes and wraps. In April/May given our latest weather wraps and capes will be a hot trend. Consider it the accessory that adds drama, elegance and something that makes your wedding dress somewhat of a chameleon; wrap on, wrap off! Your wedding photos will be stunning!
LOVE this dress from Oscar de la Renta! A stunning example of how little or light a wrap can be. Think accessory, not clothing and you’ll find the perfect wrap for your dress.
