This is my favourite, ever, Steampunk wedding photographed by superb
photographer Braedon Flynn.
So what is Steampunk? Steampunk is the fusion of Victorian art and fashion with science fiction. Taken from the time when steam-powered machines were in use, it combines airships and steam engines with laser guns and cowboys. Think Victorian styled corsetry, lace and leather, think Jules Verne and H.G. Wells and of course think Alice In Wonderland!!! All these images represent a sub-genre that has merged into the fantastical styling that create a Steampunk Wedding.

Steampunk up your wedding
I love Steampunk and Kate and Jacob’s wedding is the most beautiful example of a Steampunk Wedding that I’ve come across. It’s an elegant, sophisticated and fun wedding packed full of details (right down to the brides hair and the gorgeous cameo brooch on her dress) so grab a cuppa and meander around the photos and if you LOVE this one you’ll love the worlds best steampunk wedding ever!
Taken with traditional 35m film, Braedons captured this wedding in stunning style, echoing emotions with his photos by capturing details of the wedding that not only define their chosen theme, but tell their story. Poses, like Jacobs capture: the Groom shot above where he’s taking off his hat. And the photo of Kate, the Bride, as she’s getting ready.
From Braedon:
Kate and Jacob’s wedding was very special to be a part of. When they booked me for their wedding, I had no idea what was coming. But when I knew they were in the hands of their mastermind designer, Tricia Fountaine, this wedding was going to be over the top, brilliant! Then when I showed up on their wedding day, I was still blown out of the water by how well everything came together. Family members, bridal party, bride, groom, down to every single guest dressed the part of this wedding. I felt like I was on a movie set!!

I have looked, and looked and looked at these photos many times since they’ve been sitting on my hard drive and I have been loaded with anticipation, longing to show you because this wedding, is, my all time favourite! This wedding, is the kind of wedding that makes me so regret not having a ‘big shindig’ the second time around. This wedding is the true Unique Wedding. These two put on one hell of a show! The details are phenomenal! The styling is impeccably done and the wedding was greatly complemented by Braedons’s photos do them sweet justice.

Wow, this wedding is amazing the styling is beautiful and the fact that all the family and guests got involved in the theme really comes across. I love the fact the photographer used film it gives the images a really soft grainy look that is perfect……Love love love it!
Fantastic photography, fabulous wedding, LOVE IT!
Now, this looks like just the sort of over styling that I love! I totally would jump in feet first to photograph a wedding like this… The main thing is that the character of everyone shines through enough that it just looks like such a natural way to get married. Why not? Love this…
Love the styling. Fabulous images!
WOW! Thank you so much for featuring our wedding! I had no idea it was on here until a friend linked me this way. Many of the ideas and items were made or dreamt up by my husband and I. Right now we’re working on an etsy shop to help us help other steampunk lovers! (http://www.etsy.com/shop/OdderThanAntiquity?ref=si_shop) Hopefully fully stocked soon. Anyway in the mean time if you or anyone has questions about details, I can be reached through my website! Thank you again! OH! And by the way- We went to the UK on our Honeymoon! (Well 10 different countries in all, but started out in England and ended with Scotland!)
Hello….your wedding was just beautiful…you both look amazing. But… I have a question. Anxious to know…Where can I buy the hat your husband wore? My future son-in-law loves it, and wants to wear one exactly like it for his wedding. Thanks for any info that can lead me to a web site or place to purchase it.
That is just too Freaking AMAZING…
Awesome!
So in love with this wedding it’s ridonkulous!
Have to say that I wasn’t familiar with the term steampunk, I most certainly am now. Some fantastic images of a very imaginative wedding
