Wedding Photographer
, the fabulous Fritz Liedtke, is a brilliant example of the kinds of wedding photos I love!  They’re engaging, they’re relaxed, they’re spontaneous and a hell of a lot of fun.  I think this wedding must have come with a warning though, something like: ‘Beware, this wedding guarantees to make you happier than you’ve been in a while and sillier than you’ll dare to be for a while after that’ because when you see the photos, there is hardly a single person without a huge smile on their face! Infectious!!!

I love Fritz’s wedding photos.  There is no wonder he is an award-winning destination wedding photographer and why I can’t resist posting his weddings on the blog.  I love showing you extraordinary examples of stunning wedding photography.  This is the kind of legacy we all deserve!!!

The Idaho Destination Wedding

Katie and Justin’s real wedding is addictive.  They left their hometown of Buffalo, New York for their destination wedding in Idaho.  Now, when you say the words destination wedding most of us would immediately think Bahamas, Costa Rica or anywhere that is loaded with sun, surf and sand right?  Isn’t that what a destination wedding is?  Nope!!! A destination wedding is simply leaving your hometown for another destination of your choice and Idaho’s scenery is incredibly rich and picturesque and no wonder it’s a hidden gem for destination weddings!!!  Wait till you see the Trash The Dress styled photos taken of Katie and Justin in the lake.

I love this wedding!  And again, Portland wedding photographer, Fritz Photo has produced another stunner, just like the Argentinian wedding of Megan and Gerardo.  And for all you keen-eyes, you’ll recognise one of the photos from one of my I Thee Wed Saturday features.  I always adore his weddings as his art is pure, rich, dramatic yet always jam packed with beautiful, fun photos that make you feel like you were there: they truly reflect the natural, true story of the Bride and Grooms big day!!

A little from Fritz:

Whenever I tell people I’m heading to Idaho, they ask, “Idaho?  Why??”  I’m guessing it’s because they haven’t been there, because it’s quite beautiful.  I’ve photographed several weddings and portraits sessions there, and the landscape is always stunning.

I’d never been to the resort town of McCall, however.  And yet when I mentioned it to anyone I knew in Idaho, they certainly knew about it.  Whether for skiing, boating, vacationing, or camping, it’s a mile-high destination for southern Idaho.

I have to say I wasn’t disappointed.  Katie and Justin (who are from Buffalo, New York, and Buhl, Idaho) decided to have their wedding at McCall’s Shore Lodge, right on the Payette Lake.  It’s a beautiful, classic lodge, and each room has a lake view–as does the high-ceilinged log-construction ballroom.

Katie is a hoot to work with, full of spunk and humor, and a real ham in front of the camera.  Which I adore.  She had opportunity to put on her I’ve-been-watching-America’s-Next-Top-Model moves more than once.  And Justin and his guys…they had more humorous photo ideas than I could even keep up with.  The bride and groom kept asking me if there was a way they could make their wedding good enough to be on my website, and I reassured them it already was.

I have so many favorite images from this destination wedding, that I’m going to post a stack of them here, followed by a slideshow, which I encourage you to watch.  And when you’re done there, feel free to head to my destination wedding photography website, and see if their wedding photos made it there as well!
