Mondays inspiration Mood Board to delight and inspire from Deirdre, who some of you know from the fabulous personal styling blog, The Image Mistress. Her theme today is Fire and Ice!
I have to admit that the unabashed romantic in me is completely captivated by the spellbinding symbolism of a fire and ice themed wedding! Fire never fails to evoke ideas of a beautiful, glowing warmth and powerful passion, whilst (for me at least) ice is an element synonymous with incredible purity. I think that combination of warmth, passion, and purity – conveyed so beautifully by the fire and ice theme – reflects the deep, unending love shared by the bride and groom. Ok, perhaps that is a little bit schmaltzy, but even on a purely aesthetic basis a fire and ice themed wedding will be utterly enchanting, and nothing short of spectacular!
Soft, atmospheric lighting is essential for creating a mesmeric fire and ice themed wedding, and can easily be achieved by using a mixture of lanterns, LED lighting, and votive and tea-light candles to light your venue. Decorate tables by scattering small crystals and table diamonds across them, to achieve a beautifully unique look for your wedding venue. And look to the exquisite ‘Flame Zolotova’ bridal gown, designed by the amazingly talented Wai-Ching, for a wedding dress which completely epitomises the fire and ice theme in bewitchingly graceful, figure-flattering fashion.
