Unique wedding reception ideas: A green wedding decoration saving the environment

Who can resist a cuppa tea and a trawl through Etsy {not me!!!} and that’s exactly what I did a few days ago and I’m so pleased I did. I found some stunning unique wedding ideas for you, starting with today’s frabjous ideas by Bookity from Etsy.

Lou from Bookity in the UK takes all sorts of unwanted and elderly books and makes them into unique literary handmade decorations, including the cleverly designed heart garlands below. She also makes jewellery, cuff links and handbags. Handbags!! Wowza!

Her book handbags have been featured in The Guardian and her wedding garlands have been featured in Elle Decoration Magazine. With her finger on the green pulse, she also ensures she never uses rare or valuable books, only those unwanted or unsaleable volumes that have had a full and happy life. Her materials include comic books, cheesy book covers, aged brown paper and beautiful fabrics.

For obvious reasons we love anything to do with Alice in Wonderland, so, it’s great to see how people interpret the theme and use it for a wedding. The picture on the left with the legs in the ground is is my favorite, brilliant idea and so playful. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when they were trying to get the right pose!

I love the colours that have been used in the flower arrangements, the bright pinks work so well with the more vintage pale pink and look so vibrant against the green. The stylist has added that slightly strange feel to the tea party set up, just like in Alice in Wonderland, by hanging a chair from the tree, it makes the photo much more interesting.

Last but not least, they have used a yummy cupcake sitting in a vintage tea cup with a bright red heart, very simple but looks so pretty, I would like to be sitting a that table with one of those cakes in my hand and a lovely cup of tea, watching that poor model try and get herself out of that hole!
