Unique wedding invitations also inspired by Alice In Wonderland

I love wedding invitations and the more unique they are the more I love them: unique doesn’t mean they can’t be simple by any means, and I absolutely adore ‘influenced’ wedding stationery. What do I mean by that?  Unique wedding stationery that’s influenced by other ideas, like steampunk influences, retro influences, vintage influences and of course Alice In Wonderland influences which is some of what I have to show off to you today.

Designed and created by Amy Gulden of The Paper Planner (love her company name) today’s unique wedding stationery is exquisite with vibrant colours, beautiful fonts and an emphasis on the paper, Amy’s work is unique, creative and utterly frabjous. And, she has an Alice In Wonderland inspired collection that is a must see!

Unique letterpress wedding invitations: a touchy-feely art form

Unique letterpress wedding invitations by Artcadia

Are you a tactile person {like me}?  Do you walk past clothes at the store and when you something in particular the first thing you do is touch the fabric, like me?  Do you have a little bit of a thang for soft materials, like me?  Do you snuggle in winter underneath the softest throw you can find, like me {there’s a picture here isn’t there icon smile Unique letterpress wedding invitations: a touchy feely art form Wedding Blog }… If so, then I think you’ll also love letterpress like me.

The beauty of letterpress wedding invitations is more than just in it’s well-known timeless appeal, it’s their tactile appeal that make them special; who can resist opening a letterpress invitation and not running your fingers over the ancient art. Or is it just me?

Unique wedding invitations by Alice Palace: telling your story.

Unique wedding invitations by Alice Palace: telling your story.

I am a stationery addict and I love unique wedding invitations.  In fact I think there should be some kind of stationery club where we can all secretly admit our love for stationery: journals, pens, cases.  And I don’t know about you, but I also love searching the internet for unique wedding invitations.  For me, the hand-made and bespoke unique wedding invitations are my favourite, those that tell a story:  they’re original, personal and are such a wonderful way to begin the story of your wedding day.

After spending years trying to be as great a cartoonist as my brother I also appreciate the patience and artistic ability to create drawings off the top of your head – something I was never good at.  I could copy anything but if you asked me to play Pictionary with you, we’d probably loose – rather, you’d want to have Alice, from Alice Palace on your team because as an illustrator, she’s amazing at doing unique wedding invitations.

Unique Wedding Stationery by In The Treehouse: colourful, retro and full of fun

Unique Wedding Stationery by In The Treehouse: colourful, retro and full of fun

Since starting Alice In Weddingland and having my head and my beady little eyes in the Wedding Industry, I have discovered some spectacular stuff; artists creating stunning work.  And I’ve been introduced to some really special people who are doing phenomenal work in the industry.

There is also a huge, and I mean over-whelming amount of talented people creating unique wedding invitations from vintage, to retro, to quirky, to some stunning contemporary collections and In The Treehouse, based in Devon is another example.

Jenny Keegan is the talented owner and designer of In The Treehouse, a Devon based company producing unique wedding stationery, set up in April this year. When I saw Jenny’s website the first thing I noticed was how beautifully colourful and happy her website design was which led me to think her stationery was going to be the same… and it was.  She “proudly flys’ the flag for colour, individuality and ethical integrity in the world of wedding and celebration stationery’.

The wedding stationery matches Jenny’s personality in that they’re colourful, fun and full of flare.

Alice In Wonderland Wedding Invites: Original, unique and absolutely gorgeous.

Alice In Wonderland Wedding Invites: Original, unique and absolutely gorgeous.

I like cheeky people; that nice kinda-cheeky that is.  I have a mini-cheeky person in the form of my daughter and I also have a belief that you’ll never get anywhere in life if you never ask and cheeky people ask all the time, nicely of course! So when I received an email saying “I just wanted to be a bit cheeky and point you in the direction of my Alice wedding stationery” from Natalie at I Am Nat, she’d already won me over… then I checked our her website and I was even more impressed.

Graphic Design is Nat’s specialty and she is obsessed with crafts (particularly the paper kind) and is passionate about helping you make an impression with your Wedding Invitations.  Her Alice In Wonderland Wedding Invites have a real vintage feel and are beautifully finished.  I love the moodiness of them; they reflect a more sophisticated Alice In Wonderland Wedding Invite and leave you with a sense of curiosity icon smile Alice In Wonderland Wedding Invites: Original, unique and absolutely gorgeous. Retro wedding invitations that ooze style

After such an A.Mazing day yesterday on my first EVER {did I shout that too loud? Sorry} photo shoot with hubby and Boo Bear, I had to ensure that I posted a good’n today so that you could share in my ‘buzzy’ feeling.  I wanted to show you something that could tickle your toes with excitement, something that could make you jiggle in your seat and say “ooooooh, I do like these!”.  Something that you may not have seen before…  So without further adieu, allow me to introduce you to some invitation bling!

As you are probably too aware, I have ranted a little too much recently about Steampunk; my new found genre.  And, after seeing a couple of Steampunk photo shoots or the stunning Steampunk jewellery lately you may have had enough, BUT, bare with me one more time {this month atleast} and feast your eyes on the wedding invitations below.

As soon as you step off the platform at Royal Steamline’s website you are transported to a time when Jules Verne and Alice might have shared a cuppa tea.  Their website gives you a glimpse into an era that time simply forgot. And, you know you have found something good when you see the word ‘Shoppe’ spelt with a double ‘p’ and an ‘e’ on a website; it reminds me of a time when sweet shops were prevalent and all the men behind the counter looked like they were on a break from a Barber Shop Quartette.  Simply charming!!!

Their vintage wedding invitations are crisp, unconventional and curious and I have fallen in love with them with a bang!
