Top 5 wedding planning tips: What to do!

Top 5 wedding planning tips: What to do!

I wanted to do something a little differently this morning because I’ve spent three days in bed with nothing else to do but think.  And for me, that’s dangerous!  :) (Ask Hubby)!  One of the things I was thinking about was my Top 5 Wedding Planning tips.  If I had to narrow it down, what would they be?  And even when I narrowed it down to my top 5 wedding tips there was still one, very important tip that couldn’t be in the list but rather was the list because I personally think that no matter what your top 5 are, we all need this one and that is: Remember that the Top 5 Wedding Planning tips are a personal thing, each of us has our own priorities and therefore that list will change and that’s absolutely OK.

A bloggers paradise all neatly tucked up inside an Apple!

A bloggers paradise all neatly tucked up inside an Apple!

I apologise to all my Brides today as this post is all about an Apple!

…Why is it, that when you really, really need something – it’s either not there, or it breaks down.  I swear it must be the universe giving us a subtle hint right?  It’s certainly exactly what has happened to me anyway.

My MacBook: the heart and soul of my fingertips, the working horse of Alice In Weddingland, has crashed under the weight of my blog.  Can you believe it?  And I can not edit any photos to bring you a shiny new post, so I am therefore forced to fill your day with words only.  Although, I can’t resist, so lucky for me WordPress stores all my previous photos icon smile A bloggers paradise all neatly tucked up inside an Apple! I’ve had a tug of war going on since December with my poor silver box chugging away doing it’s MacBooky thing, smoke billowing every now and then as I edit photographs, Safari struggling to cope with my often ten or more windows open and Mail, thinking…thinking…thinking and not showing my emails.

I’ve gritted teeth at it, cursed many a sour word at it and threatened to throw it out the window a little too often.  It’s not it’s fault that it’s memory is that of new Mum: the vacant sign often comes on as it concentrates on everyone else other than itself icon smile A bloggers paradise all neatly tucked up inside an Apple! My MacBook has always been the beating pulse of my work, only now, after three months of being over worked and underpaid, it needs to be delegated to part-time work only.  Sadly, it has stopped performing and the judges decision is final.

Though what does this mean?  Well, it means {I hear the Cheshire Cat coming}, it means, {here it comes}, it MEANS {Cheshire Cat Grin!!!} that I am forced (my hands tightly tied behind my back of course) to invest in a new iMac.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Twitter, Facebook and a social media meltdown

Twitter, Facebook and a social media meltdown

I‘ve spent the last few days in a state of non-chalance!

Suddenly, I hit a point during last week where I realised that for the last few weeks I’ve spent more time with my MacBook than with my daughter and I jolly-well missed her!!!  Infact, I felt like a horrible, miserable, nasty ol Mummy.  Suddenly, I felt like I was failing at the one job that I absolutely love the most, the one job that never fails to put a smile on my face and instead I’d stared at an apple, of one kind or another be it the iPad or the Mac for far – too – long!!!

Splogger Update

Splogger Update

I just wanted to give you  a quick update re my post yesterday about my wedding blog posts being entirely ripped off!

Firstly though, a huge thank you to everyone for your amazing support both on here, Facebook and Twitter.  I was overwhelmed with the response and from how many other people this has happened to – not just bloggers!

The site in question that had posted my content had 5 links pointing back to a ‘site’ so we contacted ‘the site’!

As Nathan also suggested in his comment yesterday, it appeared the ‘perp’ was using the site to promote the keywords and links to his site by taking other peoples posts and creating a highly profitable link-strategy campaign. Which of course as far as we’re all concerned is just plain thievery of other peoples hard work.

The site it was linking to had a contact us form and Facebook page. So we left a message in the morning, but no answer! In the evening (as his site is based in Florida) Rob (aka Luke Skywalker) then tried to contact him via Facebook…

Rip Me Off Before You Go Go: Sploggers stole my blog posts!

Rip Me Off Before You Go Go: Sploggers stole my blog posts!

Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful…

… well that’s how the day started yesterday, but it wasn’t how it ended!

While sinking into my morning Earl I got an email from WordPress letting me know there was a pingback (trackback) to the wedding blog… and when I saw the pingback…

… my hand dropped in shock and my hot tea dropped.  The steam that was to come, came not from the cuppa tea and expletives rumbled from my mouth!!

How dare someone plagiarise my wedding blog!!!

And not just one post, lots of them and not just a few words, they took the entire post, including my signature (check it out below)! I had just seen… NO, I had just witnessed Grand Theft in action!

A Story of Passion, Inspiration & Marriage

A Story of Passion, Inspiration & Marriage

Hi I’m Rob, That’s me in the pic. The silent part to Alice in Weddingland, though I take no credit for the work of Zarn. Why am I writing to you today?

Why has Zarn allowed my fingers to touch the keyboard of her beautiful Blog? I’d like to tell you a story. A story of woe, tragedy, triumph and inspiration. A story that I think connects to most of us. A story that’s also about marriage. (Zarn Doesn’t know I’m writing this – she thinks it’s about something else).
