Brides started it, now it’s the boys turn: Trash the suit

Brides started it, now it’s the boys turn: Trash the suit

One of my favourite discoveries of 2011 was Trash The Dress and Trash The Suit.  I love the concept of your wedding dress or the boys suit coming out of the damp, dark box in the roof and breathing fresh and funky light into the meaning of your nuptials.

I love the idea of doing it as an anniversary idea: a photo shoot in your dress-ups, just the two of you {no more having to worry about guests} and having the time-of-your-life in a Trash The Suit photo shoot.

Groomswear by Gallery Serpentine

Groomswear by Gallery Serpentine

Groomswear is (thankfully) becoming as much of an art as the Wedding Dress itself.  Out is the stock standard suit and in is alternative Menswear and Gallery Serpentine in Australia is taking on the market by redefining the Grooms suit and creating art all in the name of fashion!!!

“Oh my God” was all that came out of my mouth when I saw the photos below for the first time.  Needless to say I am tickled pink, blue and red today because I get to introduce you to an amazing, talented company who are not only from my home country (no bias I promise) icon smile Groomswear by Gallery Serpentine Wedding Blog but are so creative and so unique that they are helping redefine a new breed of Menswear.  And I couldn’t be more proud to introduce them to the UK Wedding market.

One of our previous Alice In Wonderland inspired wedding posts The Engagement Shoot by Lauren Brimhall was quirky, very colourful and bright and quite an obvious take on Alice In Wonderland.  Then there was Kates post on the unforgettably, wonderfully mad Alice In Wonderland wedding video that aired on Channel 4′s Wedding House series; two very different weddings both styled on the same subject.

I love Vivienne Westwood, her clothes are edgy, structured, quirky and when you wear them you feel amazing. Well, now her son, Ben Westwood is going to sprinkle us with his talent and follow in his mothers footsteps.

Until recently Ben was best known as an erotic photographer but after watching his mother, Vivianne Westwood designing through out his life, he has decided to venture into the fashion world on his own and why the hell not!

His first collection is called A Child of Jago, which was debuted at London Fashion Week. Westwood describes it as “outdoor woodsman, Red Indian, cowboy”.
