I am a bit of a Dragon’s Den fan.  I love seeing success stories of the’ little people’ (not giant corporate take-overs) as it’s their hard work, tenacity and motivation that is so inspiring.  And I have to admit I do love couch-moaning at Theo, Duncan and Deborah whenever they carry on!  Sometimes they can be so judge mental and insensitive in their responses to these wonderfully, innocent people who come into the Den with their dreams.

However, Hillary, the new female Dragon on the show seems to be more passionate and sensitive.  She’s the quiet but but no-less powerful dragon: a go-getter, someone who once determined, doesn’t stop.  I remember one show where she joined forces with two uber-talented ladies with a video camera.

Shoot-It-Yourself is the brainchild of Andrea and Becs: two creative TV Directors who saw a gap in the wedding market.  Their genius idea means that you get to hire the cameras to do your own style of ‘reality TV’ type filming and then they use their expert editing capabilities to turn it all into one extremely exciting, emotional and enchanting story of your wedding day.

Wedding bouquets: A photographic story of flowers, a girl and a wedding.

I‘m back and I’m throwing myself head first into beautiful wedding bouquets {if only it was literal}.

I can’t believe this little ol’ wedding blog has become the big wedding planning site that it now is, in just five little ol’ months.  It still feels like I’m back in August 2011, just setting out and having a ton of fun researching the crazy and spectacular things to do with weddings. And now I’m back for 2012, busily tapping away in a crazy woman kind of way with my shaggy hair and my fourth cuppa tea, motivated by the thrill of getting Alice In Weddingland back on track after my fabulous Christmas, Birthday and New Year.

For months my little art deco Paperblanks notebook has had a note scribbled in there with the words “wedding bouquets – photography” coupled with my cutesy attempt at a little drawing of a flower with a smiley face on it. {I even coloured in the petals icon smile Wedding bouquets: A photographic story of flowers, a girl and a wedding. Wedding Blog }.  This little note has been reminding me, haunting me, disheveling me into action in search of stunning photographs of wedding bouquets for some weeks because I want to show you just how gorgeous your wedding bouquet can look in your wedding photographs and I wanted to find some inspirational photographs showcasing the creativity of wedding bouquets.

And today that little note has stopped haunting me because I get to cross it out.  Today is the day I finally get to show you some stunning wedding bouquet photos – I found some!  And they are all photographed by the lovely Gillian Cross Photography.

Gillian has a talent in capturing the vibrancy and the romance that is truly, a bunch of flowers and tells a story instead.

Steampunk Wedding Jewellery: From Cameo to Swarovski crystals

Steampunk Wedding Jewellery: From Cameo to Swarovski crystals

Steampunk wedding jewellery: from the subtle to the sublime

A few months ago I heard the word Steampunk for the very first time…and now, I’m a tad bit addicted to the idea!  If you’ve never heard of it and want to know a little about it you can read it on a previous post but today I want to showcase stunning Steampunk Jewellery by an extremely talented lady.  But first, for those who are new to Steampunk…

What is Steampunk?  What is a Steampunk wedding? Well, it’s an eclectic mix of Victorian Science Fiction – in a nutshell icon smile Steampunk Wedding Jewellery: From Cameo to Swarovski crystals Wedding Blog Think Victorian-inspired wonders like steam-powered aircraft and mechanical computers. Think Jules Verne and H. G. Wells, think Victorian dress and of course icon smile Steampunk Wedding Jewellery: From Cameo to Swarovski crystals Wedding Blog think Alice In Wonderland!!!

And if you haven’t yet checked out what a Steampunk wedding could look like have a look at the corset I’m lusting after in the Steampunk Wedding Shoot by Angie Peady from Aus.  The dress is amazing, the regency coat is just divine and the accessories give you a great idea as to how you could incorporate elements into your wedding.

Steampunk, isn’t just for stemapunk fans. The accessories are whimsical and vintage and include metals, Cameo, clocks and much more.  If you’re considering adding a little piece of Steampunk to your wedding you can do it subtly or with a bang by utilising the accessories (oh I love bling) that are avavilable on the internet now and Aranwen whom I found on Etsy recently, produces some of the best I’ve found yet.  Her use of metals is stunning and even the chunkier pieces still ooze that feminine edge.

I am drooling over these two – I love the cuff watch, now that deserves the word spectacular.  And the watch pendant ohhhhh, my hands are tittering very close to my wallet icon smile Steampunk Wedding Jewellery: From Cameo to Swarovski crystals Wedding Blog And for those who adore cameo like me…

Steampunk wedding jewellery is not just about hard lines and rough metal, it is more about the intricate designs from eras gone by.  There are some tacky designs out in google-world but there are amazing creators out there like Aranwen who can make any piece bespoke for you and your wedding.

Aranwens Etsy store is packed with jewellery inspired from Jules Verne to J.R.R. Tolkien and is an eclectic mix of earrings, necklaces and chokers to pocket watches and brooches.  Her work is beautifully finished and meticulously designed.  I love it all and I really, really want the pocket watch and the cameo cuff!!!

Steampunk wedding jewellery is (pardon the pun) timeless.  From Victorian cameo, Swarovski crystals and pearls to Art Nouveau stampings and stunning filigree that all combine to create statement pieces.

Naughty Alice: The Perfume by Vivienne Westwood

Naughty Alice, the perfume by Vivienne Westwood is a scent that has been solely inspired by the Wonderland wanderer and her adventures so for our Frabjous Friday post, I had to blog it!  It’s a mystical-sounding recipe of black rose, carnal violet with moody, sensual ylang-ylang – ideal for autumnal brides!  And the bottle looks gorgeous!

Packaged in the very “Drink Me-esq” type bottle and created by legendary perfumer Bruno Jovanovic, this scent is delicious, sexy and feminine and comes with a “Wear Me” gold and blue bracelet.  So if you need inspiration for your jewellery, it’s sitting on top of the bottle.

The scent also has a velvety body veil (moisturiser) and an irresistible shower gel so you lather yourself the morning of your big day and ooze sex appeal as you strut your modern femininity down the runway.

The fragrance transports you to a sensual dream world where everything is possible and your adventurous curiosity can be unleashed. This chic feminine and provocative new floriental perfume leaves you with a naughty twinkle in the eye. At the very heart of Naughty Alice’s perfume is a luminous floriental which dazzles the senses – quotes Vivienne’s website.

And if you dare to try it…let us know the frabjous comments you get.
