Alice Loves: Chasing Moments

Alice Loves: Chasing Moments

Chasing Moments is owned by the wonderfully talented Suzie Jay who began her journey into photography thanks to the likes of Henri Cartier-Bresson.  For those who don’t know, he is considered to be the father of modern day photojournalism: the ‘big cheese’ of documentary style photography and you can see this influence all through Suzie’s photos.

Cartier-Bresson described his Leica camera as an extension of his eye and he reached international recognition after his coverage of Ghandi’s funeral in 1948.  He liked to keep his photography simple and took the kind of photo that made you stop and look further into the picture and this is what I see in Suzie’s photography.

Alice In Weddingland Photo Shoot Sponsor: Vintage Twee

Introducing Vintage Twee, beautiful, elegant and vintage inspired table decor and accessories.

When I was thinking about the photo shoot styling it had to be subtle, classy and definitely understated in the Alice In Wonderland influence.  I needed product that would say ‘Alice’ with a loud whisper, not a scream and a yel,l as OTT and I just do not get on.

And, when I found the lovely Joanne from Vintage Twee and she generously agreed to donate some of her vintage Alice Collection table decor, I was delighted.  Her accessories are subtle, classy and understated – all the things I wanted.

The Alice In Wonderland fortune teller that you saw my gorgeous girly with in the Alice In Weddingland: The Garden Party post and the delicate little Eat Me tags that were over the table are all from her Tea Party range.

Joanne’s products are delicate, feminine and (here’s that word again) understated, the perfect match for vintage weddings, contemporary weddings, and in fact tea parties of any kind.

Joanne’s Tea Party range and her vintage range include items such as favours, doilies, party picks, tags, confetti cones and even conversation starters: a myriad of accessories for your wedding reception.

My personal favourite was the tiny little teapot favour boxes, who knew my tea obsession would continue in cardboard! icon smile Alice In Weddingland Photo Shoot Sponsor: Vintage Twee Wedding Blog

Vintage Twee is home to an enchantingly English range of hand crafted, vintage-inspired décor for the loveliest tea party, wedding or shower. My company was created out of my passion for tea, classic romance & literature and, of course, an unshakeable ambition. Officially, I opened my doors for business in March 2010 but Vintage Twee was the lifelong dream of a little girl whose favourite childhood pastimes were her ‘making box’ and preparing her Auntie Edith’s tea trolley with fresh sandwiches and cakes.

My work is greatly inspired by my British heritage, along with the timeless appeal of the imagery and style from a bygone era. I source many vintage materials to create my items such as music sheets & ephemera, pearls, lace, jewellery and old imagery from as far back as I can find. I am fascinated by the history behind each piece of lace, each pearl, each image I use and give them a new lease of life through one of my creations! I hand craft all of my items with a great amount of care and attention to detail and aim to provide beautiful, bespoke and traditionally English decor for your special event. So, whether you are having a vintage themed wedding or party, or are just looking for something that little bit different, Vintage Twee will ensure you host a beautiful and elegant entertaining experience for all your guests.
