I salute any Bride who is courageous enough to think outside the box when it comes to the wedding dress; it’s a tough decision when you’ve probably been imagining the fairytale since you were young with a white Cinderalla Dress.  However these days the wedding dress is even more of a statement than it used to be.   Think red, or soft pink or light blue, and black!  Even a mix of colours like white and red or black and white, like Alison did for her wedding dress below.  Her dress was black lace and ivory and she made it even more spectacular by adding red crystal shoes.

Alison and Stephen were married at Mitton Hall, a stunning 15th century manor house in Whalley.  With a smudging of red, lots of white and a huge injection of black, their wedding style leapt outside the traditional box and into their own.  From a borrowed brooch for the bouquet (from the Grooms Mum), a bouquet designed by the Bride and made by a wonderfully close friend to service in the Brasserie and a cheeky Bride;  Alison and Steve’s wedding in 2010 was injected with bucket loads of fun and shows just how you can achieve a fairytale wedding by thinking outside-the-box and breaking tradition.

I love the lanterns so romantic!!!

From Alison: I always knew I didn’t want an ivory dress they’re all the same !! I really wanted something with colour or black and when I tried this Allure dress on I knew that was it , Steve’s mum was shocked 🙂 I asked all the female guests to not wear black as I wanted black bridesmaids dresses and wanted to dress the venue with black chair covers.  My theme was black and silver with red accents … Even down to green and blacks chocolate favours , everyone thought it was so colourful and different for autumn and brave!!! The photos are amazing.
